Can hotels offer packed lunches?

Accepted Answer

Yes, many of our hotels do offer this option. Sometimes the hotel is not able to provide packed lunches directly but we can arrange the lunches via a third party and have them delivered to your hotel for collection.

Question 2

What is the hotel’s cancellation policy for group bookings?

Accepted Answer

This varies from hotel to hotel, but usually hotels need at least 30 days notice to cancel a group booking.  Some hotels may need 45 or 60 days notice.

Some hotels will offer a full refund if you cancel in accordance with the notice period.  Some will always take a small deposit (typically 10%) to secure the booking and this will be non-refundable.

If you cancel your rooms with less notice than required some hotels will offer a % refund (typically the closer to the booking dates you cancel the less will be refunded) - some hotels will offer no refunds at all.

When you receive quotes from GroupFun we will indicate the cancellation policy of each option.

Question 3

Can hotels offer half / full board?

Accepted Answer

Some hotels are able to offer half board (you get lunch) or full board (you get breakfast, lunch and dinner) - it depends on the restaurant and catering facilities they have.

Some hotels will offer the option for a breakfast and dinner in the hotel and the option of a takeaway packed lunch.

Some hotels will offer half or full board options in their rates but the food may be served at a nearby restaurant.

Question 4

Is porterage included in the room rates?

Accepted Answer

Normally porterage is extra and is charged per bag per direction (eg one charge for check-in, a further charge for check-out).

Can the hotel offer early check in / late check out?

Accepted Answer

Some hotels do offer this, but there is generally an associated cost.

Question 6

Is there a minimum age for students in hotels and/or hostels?

Accepted Answer

Some hotels will specify there must be one adult per 10 students.

Some hostels will only accept students over the age of 18 because of licensing requirements (ie they sell alchohol on the premises)

In addition to this there is a wide range of different policies re student age and student supervision from one hotel or hostel provider to another.
